Crochet a Miniature Doily for a Special Touch. Written Crochet Pattern and FREE Video Tutorial

Have you seen the adorable miniature orchids that started appearing in local shops a couple of years ago? Orchids have always been stunning flowers, but these miniature varieties are especially delicate and captivating.

I love purchasing them and gifting them to family and friends. To make these gifts even more special, I often pair them with a handmade miniature crochet doily.

Today, I’d like to invite you to crochet along with me and create a beautiful six-inch doily. This delicate doily is worked with size 10 mercerized cotton thread and a 1.6 mm steel hook, making it the perfect addition to your home decor or as a heartfelt gift.

Whether you give them away, keep them for yourself, or even sell them, these small doilies are sure to be cherished.

A small doily can elevate the presentation of any decorative piece. Imagine placing a miniature orchid on top of a delicate lace doily—instantly, the charm and elegance are enhanced!

These doilies are not only beautiful but also practical and versatile. They make excellent gifts, wedding favors, or even table decorations for a countryside-themed wedding or a vintage tea party.

The materials for this doily cost less than fifty cents, yet the finished piece is worth much more. Handmade lace always carries a special allure, and I can easily see people purchasing these in bulk for special occasions.

If you're looking for a small yet profitable crochet project, these doilies are an excellent option.

You can complete this doily by following my step-by-step free video tutorial on YouTube.

Or if you prefer written instructions, you can purchase the pattern in my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

I’d love to see your finished doilies, so feel free to share your creations with me. Happy crocheting!

Crochet Textured Shells Scarf, Written Pattern and Video Tutorial

If you're an advanced beginner in crochet looking to tackle a project that’s both simple yet stunning, the Textured Shells Scarf is perfect for you!

With its flowing design and elegant texture, this scarf is a versatile accessory that adds warmth and style to any wardrobe.

The Textured Shells Scarf uses a combination of basic and slightly more complex stitches (front post double crochets), making it an excellent step up from beginner-level projects.

You'll practice foundational techniques while exploring new ways to create texture and interest.

The yarn I used is Alize Angora Gold (20% wool, 80% acrylic). I used two skeins in color Green Almond.

Its soft halo effect creates a lightweight yet warm scarf.

The hook size is E (3.5 mm).

The finished measurements are about 70 inches long and 11 inches wide.

  • Despite its lacy appearance, this scarf is warm and perfect for winter.

The secret lies in the yarn’s composition: the acrylic provides durability, while the wool adds warmth and softness.

The 3D shell stitch not only looks stunning but is also fun and satisfying to crochet.

  • The Textured Shells Scarf is crafted using a simple, two-row repeat. This makes it a relaxing project to work on while still producing an impressive result.

Written Pattern: Available in my Etsy and Ravelry shops for easy download.

Video Tutorial: A detailed video tutorial is included with the pattern for those who need visual guidance or want to follow along step-by-step.

Wrap Yourself in Elegance: The Voluminous Shells Crochet Scarf

Crochet projects that blend texture, color, and simplicity are my favorite, and my Voluminous Shells Crochet Scarf hits all the right notes.

It’s elegant, cozy, and versatile—exactly the kind of piece that makes you proud to say, “I made this!” Whether you’re an advanced beginner or looking to try out a fun new pattern, this scarf is the perfect choice.

The voluminous shells pattern is all about creating texture with simple stitches. It’s made with a combination of half double crochets and treble crochets, resulting in a bold yet soft wave-like effect.

Final Measurements. Length: About 64 inches. Width: 12 inches

This size makes the scarf long enough to wrap multiple times or drape stylishly over any outfit.

Four skeins of Lion Brand Landscapes in the Rain Forest colorway. This yarn is 100% acrylic, soft, and has a slight sheen that enhances the shell pattern.

A size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook. This size worked perfectly to balance the pattern’s texture and the yarn’s weight.

This scarf was a joy to create. The combination of rich texture, vibrant colors, and soft yarn made every stitch feel special!

Whether you’re crocheting for yourself or someone else, this scarf is a project worth adding to your list.

If you decide to make your own, the written pattern (with a complimentary video tutorial) is available in my Etsy and Ravelry shops!

    Happy crocheting!
